Educators

Robert T. Erickson
DDS, MS, OMFS-OMFR
Dr. Robert T. Erickson is the Director of Education at Brighter Way Dental Center. In addition, he is also the Director of the Comprehensive Oral Implantology Residency program at Brighter Way, which is an affiliate training center for Jacksonville University’s newest post-doctoral, dental education program. The program offers Resident Dentists the opportunity to earn a Masters Degree in Dentistry and a Certification in Comprehensive Oral Implantology upon completion of a rigorous, three year academic and clinical training experience. Prior to his arrival at Brighter Way, Dr. Erickson was Associate Professor at the A.T. Still University Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. In addition, Dr. Erickson was Adjunct Professor for the NYU Langone Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Residency, in the Advanced Care Clinic at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. Throughout his time at the University, Dr. Erickson was also on faculty at several private dental implant training centers in the Phoenix, Arizona metropolitan area. Dr. Erickson began his career as a General Dentist after completing Dental School at Creighton University and a General Practice Residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He then went on to complete a Residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in Michigan at what is now known as the Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital OMFS Residency program. In the years following his specialty training, Dr. Erickson was in private oral surgery practice and it was during this time that he developed a keen interest in oral implantology. To strengthen his skills in the emerging field of digital dentistry, Dr. Erickson obtained additional post-doctoral education by completing a second specialty training program in Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he also earned a Masters of Science in Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology. It is with this unique combination of dual dental specialties, private practice experience and years of instructing dental students, residents and practicing dentists, that Dr. Erickson will put all of his education and experience to use teaching at Brighter Way Dental.
